Live surveys: Scoping Digital UK Natural Science Collections
Deadlines: 17th December 2021 and 7th January 2022
Your opportunity to contribute data about your collection and digital readiness towards a future digital strategy for UK collections.
NatSCA is a partner in an important project scoping a future strategy to create a digital natural science collection for the UK, led by the Natural History Museum London and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
Following initial workshops in October, two surveys are now being released. These provide our community with an important opportunity to contribute to securing future strategic investment in digitising UK natural science collections:
1. Collections survey to assess the scope of natural science collections and their extent of digitisation - deadline 7/1/2022
2. Digital readiness survey about institutional digital capabilities - deadline 17/12/2021
If you have not received these surveys already please contact dissco-uk@nhm.ac.uk to take part. Please include the name and contact details of one person who will coordinate your institution's survey responses.
The project team is available to support you with planned surgery sessions, and also in pre-populating your survey with existing data you may hold - please register interest for this by Friday 3/12/2021.
Information about these surveys is also being shared by the Geological Curators' Group. It would be fantastic to see as many responses as possible!
